The chiefs of the Finance Ministry's local finance bureaus reported Wednesday a gradual improvement in the nation's regional economies since they last met in September.
They said the regional economies are "improving gradually" on the strength of a series of pump-priming measures taken by the government, although the employment situation and other regional economic conditions remain severe.
At their previous meeting in September, they reported that Japan's regional economies as a whole were "improving somewhat."
