Dialogue on Northeast Asia security involving Japan, the United States and China may be further enhanced in coming years, according to a senior official of a foreign policy think tank that recently organized an unofficial three-way forum in Tokyo.
Toshiro Ozawa, 51, acting director of the Japan Institute of International Affairs, said the Sept. 17-19 second meeting of the Japan, U.S. and China Conference -- a security forum for private-sector experts from the three countries -- has paved the way for enhanced dialogue based on "intelligence" and "rationality."
