The government will implement measures to increase business startups to generate 1.32 million jobs over the next five years, officials at the Ministry of International Trade and Industry said Thursday.
Specifically, the ministry plans to triple the number of venture companies listed on the over-the-counter market and increase the number of growing small companies by 10,000 within three to five years, thereby creating job opportunities for 320,000 workers. It also intends to increase the number of business startups by 100,000 within five years, which is to generate 1 million jobs.
MITI chief Kaoru Yosano explained the measures to Finance Minister Kiichi Miyazawa, seeking cooperation in tax measures and facilitating capital markets.
