Canadian Prime Minister Jean Chretien will visit Japan in mid-September to strengthen bilateral ties, Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura said Tuesday.
Chretien is expected to lead a 250-member delegation dubbed "Team Canada," which consists of a trade minister, regional leaders and key figures of business and cultural communities, Komura said.
During his Sept. 14-18 stay, Chretien is scheduled to hold talks with Prime Minister Keizo Obuchi and attend a symposium in Tokyo on development and peace building.
