The United Nations Development Program hopes to strengthen its partnership with Japan because the two share an interest in cooperating on development initiatives, Mark Malloch Brown, new head of the UNDP, said Thursday.
Malloch Brown, who became the administrator of the UNDP on July 1, said the UNDP can effectively cooperate with Japan in such locations as Africa, Palestine and Kosovo "where Japan does not have historic involvement but wants to provide practical development cooperation."
