Japan should suspend cash remittances to North Korea if Pyongyang test-launches a second ballistic missile, Liberal Democratic Party lawmakers said Wednesday.
The proposal came up during a meeting of the Foreign Affairs Division subcommittee of the LDP's Policy Affairs Research Council, according to sources who had access to the meeting.
Cash remittances to North Korea from pro-Pyongyang Korean residents of Japan are estimated to reach 60 billion yen a year.
