In a bid to strengthen its foothold in international telecommunications, NTT Communications Corp. will make a capital investment in Japan Satellite Systems Inc., top officials of the two firms announced Tuesday.
In exchange, JSAT, an operator of five communications satellites for telecom and TV broadcasting services, will buy the international and long-distance telecom carrier's stake in two domestic communications satellites, the officials said.
NTT Communications jointly owns the two satellites with NTT-East, NTT-West and NTT Mobile Communications Network Inc.
