The high number of fatal falls at construction sites has prompted a firm to produce a human version of the automobile air bag.
Last year, according to the Construction Industries Accident Prevention Association, 313 construction workers — almost one a day — plunged to their deaths while at work.
But Kajima Corp. plans to wipe out this statistic and reduce fatalities resulting from falls to zero with the "crash shock-absorbing life vest."
