OSAKA — Sharp Corp. is boasting the world's first microwave oven capable of downloading recipes from the Internet and cooking automatically.

Sharp's Web pages carry more than 400 recipes that include such specialties as baby food and dishes for those with high blood pressure. Users need only prepare specific ingredients, and the rest of the cooking is done by the microwave oven, which will be launched in September, the officials said Tuesday.

The new 98,000 yen microwave also has a memory function for up to five recipes.

The microwave oven was created after consumers complained that what troubles them most is menu planning, the officials said.

Sharp, which enjoys the world's largest market share in microwave ovens, also plans to market the ovens overseas within a few years.
