Helped by brisk sales of hits such as the Legacy wagon and Forester sports-utility vehicle, Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. posted on Monday its highest-ever fiscal results on a nonconsolidated basis, company officials said.
Pretax profits came to 5.12 billion yen, a record high and 17.6 percent higher than the previous year, while sales rose to 928.28 billion yen, up 8.4 percent from the year before and a new sales record for the third consecutive year.
On a consolidated basis, sales were 1.35 trillion yen, up 3.7 percent, and pretax profits 75.6 billion yen, up 23.4 percent, they said.
Consolidated net profits were 33.7 billion yen, a 9.8 percent improvement from the previous year.
