The ruling Liberal Democratic Party and its coalition partner, the Liberal Party, kicked off talks Wednesday on possible campaign cooperation for the next Lower House elections.
The parties' secretaries general confirmed they will hold full-scale discussions on the issue from early May, party officials said.
The two parties reached a basic agreement to consider campaign cooperation late last year during the formation of their coalition.
The next elections for the House of Representatives will take place no later than October 2000.
