OSAKA -- The Osaka Prefectural Government opened a bilingual medical information Web site for foreigners Friday so they can find hospitals or clinics where they can receive medical treatment in their native language.

The Web site lists 192 hospitals, 422 clinics and 351 dental clinics in the prefecture that can deal with people who do not speak Japanese. Although English is the most available language, followed by Chinese, German, Korean and French, 16 other languages can be handled at one medical institution or another.

Other information includes details on the medical insurance system, a list of emergency clinics and medical information for foreigners in general. The Web site address is http:www.pref.osaka.jp/osaka-pref/iryo/medical info
