Pakistani Foreign Minister Sartaj Aziz flatly denied on Thursday an allegation that Pakistan developed its nuclear and missile technologies in cooperation with North Korea and China.
"I think most scientists are aware that our technology and expertise in the nuclear and missile fields are almost 15 years old and predates the expertise of many other countries, particularly North Korea," Aziz said during a press conference at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Japan.
Japan is apparently concerned about the alleged linkage between Pakistan and North Korea in missile technology. Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura urged Aziz in a meeting Wednesday not to export missile technology and equipment to North Korea nor to import them from Pyongyang.
Aziz reaffirmed at the press conference that Pakistan has no intention of exporting its missile and nuclear technologies to any country. Aziz said that Pakistan has a normal relationship with North Korea, but "there is nothing special about it."
