The European Union may file a complaint with the World Trade Organization within the next few months over Japan's import restrictions on leather products, government sources said Wednesday.
Last week, the EU told Japan to resolve the smoldering trade row through bilateral negotiations as soon as possible or face a legal battle with the union at the WTO, the Geneva-based watchdog on international commerce, the sources said.
