A 42-year-old man was given a suspended prison term Monday for molesting a female college student on a Toyoko Line train in February.
The Tokyo District Court ruled that Kazuya Kitamura, a producer at Nippon Television Network, committed a "daring and base" crime by waiting for the woman at the train station, following her onto the train and reaching his hand into her underwear the morning of Feb. 23. Since Kitamura is expected to be fired from his job, the court gave him a 16-month sentence suspended for three years.
