The Asian People's Friendship Society will operate a hotline for two days to respond to questions from and advise foreign laborers illegally working in Japan.
The hotline will be open May 1 and 2 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will offer support and advice to foreign laborers who feel they have been subject to abuse or human rights violations at work. The hotline will accommodate speakers of English, Chinese, Korean, Bengalese, Persian and Urdu.
After these two days of consultation, APFS will host a meeting, titled "May Day for Migrant Workers," to discuss issues pertaining to foreign laborers in Japan. The gathering, which will be held at Itabashi Ward Sanbun Hall between 2 and 4:30 p.m., will be followed by an hourlong party. For more information, contact the APFS by phone at (03) 3964-8739, or by fax at (03) 3579-0197.
