The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is seeking applicants among the general public to attend an upcoming U.N.-sponsored international conference on urban environmental problems at the Tokyo International Forum in Chiyoda Ward.
Scheduled for May 26-29, Eco-Partnership Tokyo is expected to gather representatives from more than 50 major cities around the world as well as environmental citizens' groups, researchers and businesses. They are to discuss the environment and recycling issues in urban areas.
There is room for an audience of 1,000 at each session planned for May 26, 27 and 28. Foreign residents are particularly welcome, metro government officials said. The application deadline is May 7.
