The government on April 7 appointed Kazuo Nukazawa, senior managing director of the Japan Federation of Economic Organizations (Keidanren), as new ambassador to Hungary, Foreign Ministry officials said.
Nukazawa, 61, will be the first Keidanren official to ever become an ambassador. Officials said his appointment is a symbol of Japan's increasingly important economic relations with Hungary. Nukazawa has been with Keidanren since 1959.
The government also appointed Takehisa Nogami, 57, as ambassador to Ethiopia; Shosuke Ito, 57, as ambassador to Ghana; and Keisuke Oba, 63, as ambassador to Croatia.
