The Japan Federation of Economic Organizations (Keidanren) on April 6 announced it will appoint Chairman Norio Ohga of Sony Corp. as one of its vice chairmen.
It also said it will leave a post being vacated by a leader of the banking industry unfilled.
The nation's largest business lobby said that Ohga was one of 10 vice chairmen selected to lead the organization, and that they will start their terms after May 26, following formal approval at its annual general meeting.
