Foreign Minister Keizo Obuchi said March 17 that he will probably visit Seoul on March 21 and March 22 to meet with his South Korean counterpart, Park Jung Soo.
The foreign ministers will discuss bilateral issues, including a fisheries pact, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula. Obuchi is expected to meet with President Kim Dae Jung when he visits Seoul.
His meeting with Park will be in preparation for the summit between Kim and Prime Minister Ryutaro Hashimoto early next month in London, where the two will attend the second Asia-Europe Summit.
