Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Co., announced March 17 that Eiji Iwakuni, 55, will become the new president of Ford Japan, to replace Konen Suzuki, beginning April 1.
"The company will introduce a series of strong new products next year," Suzuki said. "We concluded that new talent should take the lead for this new era."
Iwakuni, who worked for Honda Motor Co. for more than 30 years, left Honda in February this year. His last positions were as head of the large project section and leader of the distribution reform project at Honda's headquarters.
Suzuki, who will be 60 in April, will retire. He has served as president for the past seven years and reorganized dealer networks and expanded Ford's sales networks by recruiting Japanese domestic "keiretsu" dealers.
