A suspected rightist stormed into the headquarters of Nomura Securities Co. in Chuo Ward, Tokyo, Friday morning, breaking the glass front door with a metal bat.
Takashi Furuya, 55, was carrying a fake sword and a list of questions concerning recent payoff scandals involving securities firms, police said. When he entered the lobby at around 9:10 a.m., he began shouting: "I'm from Shokon Juku. Answer these questions."
A security guard who tried to stop him was slightly injured. Furuya was apprehended by officers from a nearby police station, police said.
