OSAKA -- Additional environmental problems have been confirmed at the planned site for Universal Studios Japan as Osaka officials announced that the most recent tests revealed high levels of chromium and other toxins at two different locations.
The latest tests were carried out by Sumitomo Metal Industries under the direction of the Osaka Municipal Government in September and October at 15 locations on a 7.2-hectare site in southern Osaka owned by Sumitomo. In all, 101 samples were taken from depths ranging from 6 to 10 meters.
