KOBE -- Urging cooperation between trade unions, corporations, and national governments to promote stable employment and emphasizing the need to create viable work for young people, the Kobe Jobs Conference opened here Friday.
Participants include the G-8 countries (The United States, Great Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Japan, and Russia), as well as representatives from the International Labor Organization, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, the International Organization of Employers, the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions, the Japan Federation of Employers' Unions, and the European Commission.
