Small island states that could be severely affected by global warming are demanding that industrialized countries waste no time in finding effective solutions to halt the phenomenon.
Tuiloma Neroni Slade, Samoan ambassador to the United Nations and chairman of the Alliance of Small Island States, was in Tokyo recently for informal two-day ministerial talks. The meeting ended Sunday with participants confirming their political will to reach a successful outcome at the upcoming Kyoto conference on global warming.
