OSAKA -- A 16-year-old high school boy was fatally stabbed June 9 morning at a train station in Osaka Prefecture and police have arrested a fellow student of the same age on suspicion of homicide.
Local police said Yuuki Minato of Nara Prefecture was on his way to school when he and the schoolmate began to quarrel at Fuse Station on the Kintetsu Line. The two were separated shortly during a train transfer, but Minato waited for the schoolmate at the Kintetsu Nara Line's Yaenosato Station. There, the two started a fistfight, during which Minato was stabbed in the stomach a couple of times, according to the police.
Minato died shortly after being taken to a nearby hospital. A witness said the knife blade was about 15-cm long. The teen told police he has been carrying the knife for about a month to protect himself.
