Last July, Jimmy Choo's iconic Love pumps turned blue at the luxury brand’s Omotesando boutique.
Its famous Bon Bon bucket followed suit as well: the bag now glows in various shades of blue. Since last summer, the outlet has showcased a unique collection in its Japanese boutiques: a series of 13 hand-dyed, royal blue bags, shoes and wallets shine brightly among the other products on display.
Behind this one-of-a-kind collaboration is Buaisou, an aizome (traditional indigo hand dyeing) workshop operated by five craftspeople in rural Shikoku, where the desire to maintain traditional arts runs strong.
