The renowned Imperial Hotel, Tokyo brings new meaning to the term, "the art of fine dining," at French restaurant La Brasserie until Sept. 4 through a tie-up with the "Timeless Mucha: Mucha to Manga — The Magic of Line" exhibition on show at The Bunkamura Museum of Art.
Specifically, executive chef Yu Sugimoto has prepared a full-course menu (¥13,500 plus charges), drawing inspiration from Mucha's artwork for the campaign's appetizers and soups. The restaurant, boasting an airy, convivial art nouveau setting, is well-suited to this event. Diners will be captivated by the succulent salmon "Bellevue" dressed with herbs and preserved in a Sauternes wine gelee. A luxurious twist is given to a cold corn potage, where emerald orbs dot the vibrant yellow soup. The main dish features sauteed beef fillet with pumpkin fondant.
Also on offer is an original cocktail combining Champagne, apple juice and kiwi fruit syrup (¥2,000 plus charges), influenced by Mucha's "Monaco — Monte Carlo" poster.
