The latest addition to Seven-Eleven's doughnut selection mixes a classic Japanese flavor with one of the convenience store's classic styles.
The green-tea old fashioned (¥110) features a matcha-flavored interior and a somewhat off-putting exterior that looks like wet moss. The sugary glaze overpowers initial bites, but the subtle tea taste that lingers afterward is pleasant and becomes more dominant a few chomps in.
If you can put up with an overly sweet start, this doughnut should have you charmed by the last bite.
