Tasting a towering chocolate delight
Christmas is all about layers at the Hyatt Regency Tokyo, where its pastry shop is offering a creative collection of graceful and stylish cakes produced by acclaimed pastry chef Hirokazu Sato.
A particular standout is the "Bucheron," a chocolate log cake that is a whopping 18 cm high and encompasses multiple layers of delectable flavors, starting with a chocolate-coated nut and orange peel base, tiers of chocolate biscuit, caramelized macadamia nuts, Early Grey-flavored cream filling and chocolate mousse, which are all encased in a chocolate coating and topped with a bed of Sato's trademark meringue, and densely decorated with an assortment of colorful fruit. The cake is available at ¥8,640
