Eat your veggies for dessert in buffet
The InterContinental Yokohama Grand is collaborating with Toryu, a finalist in the buffet connoisseur competition on the TV show "TV Champion," to offer a new buffet at the hotel's lounge, Marine Blue, through June 27.
The first in a series of collaboration buffets, Toryu's theme is "veggie sweets." It features about 15 kinds of hotel-made desserts using seasonal vegetables, such as a salty tarts of dried tomatoes, cheesecakes of avocados and lime, Swiss rolls of spinach and pound cakes of burdock and sesame. Customers can try various flavor combinations they may never have tasted before.
Despite the unorthodox creations, the motto of the buffet is "It tastes good because it's vegetables."
