The Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo is offering original osechi ryōri
The Rihga Royal Hotel Tokyo is offering original osechi ryōri (traditional Japanese New Year's food) at its gourmet boutique Melissa for delivery or takeout on New Year's Eve to assist those preparing for the coming of the New Year's holidays.
Osechi ryōri traditionally consists of a special assortment of foods in tiered boxes called jubako, which are eaten to celebrate the New Year. The hotel offers boxes with one or two tiers, which include a range of dishes prepared by the hotel's chefs.
The two-tiered box costs ¥36,750 and includes lobster thermidor, mousse of foie gras, kōhaku namasu (a red-and-white salad of carrots and daikon) and roast beef. The one-tiered version is available at ¥16,800 and contains shrimp in chili sauce, kuromame (stewed, sweetened black beans) and sweet chestnuts.
