It can seem that in the modern world stresses and worries abound, which is why the Hyatt Regency Kyoto is offering a special accommodation package called Ishoku Dogen.
The phrase ishoku dogen is Japanese for "staying healthy by having a balanced diet." This package includes two nights' accommodation with special dinners at the hotel's Touzan Japanese restaurant and three acupuncture treatments at Riraku Spa and Fitness. The meals comprise a kanpo pot on one night and yakuzen kaiseki on the other, both of which are made with Chinese herbal medicines, tailored to each guest's condition based on the acupuncturist's advice. Japanese-style breakfast is also included, either as room service or at The Grill restaurant. The hotel hopes this package can create a truly relaxing experience to relieve physical and mental stresses.
The package starts from ¥98,000 for single occupancy and from ¥152,000 for double occupancy, including tax and a 10 percent service charge. Customers must book the acupuncture treatments at Riraku at least two weeks in advance.
