The Royal Park Hotel in the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo is offering special activity-based summer accommodation plans through Sept. 30.
One purpose of the plans is to help elementary school students with their summer assignments. The plans offer activities that may help satisfy a topic of independent research. For example, in the paper-pressing workshop plan, which comes with a one-night stay, guests can make their own washi (Japanese paper) at the Ozu Washi paper store, which dates from the Edo Period. From straining to pressing, guests can experience the entire paper-making process.
The price of the plans varies depending on the number of adults and children under middle school age per room, starting from ¥21,000. The workshops run from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the day of checkout. The package comes with breakfast and a one-day pass for the Tokyo Metro transportation system.
