On June 1, the Royal Park Hotel in the Nihonbashi area of Tokyo marked its 22nd anniversary. Among the many celebratory offerings is a special kaiseki course at its Japanese restaurant, Genjikoh, through June 30.
The special course features seasonal, early summer ingredients, such as Japanese trout, hamo (pike eel), water shield and kamo-nasu (an eggplant produced in Kyoto). The dishes include sushi, pike eel noodles and steamed duck with grilled eggplant.
The course costs ¥15,750 and is available for lunch, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and dinner, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The price includes tax but not the 10 percent service charge.
