The Hyatt Regency Kyoto has released a special summer accommodation plan that gives visitors the opportunity to experience the traditional culture of the ancient capital.
The Kawadoko accommodation package showcases Kyoto's summer feature of a dinner by the kawadoko (riverbed), enjoying wild sweetfish, vegetables from Kyoto and other seasonal cuisine on a platform just above a river in green surroundings. The package allows visitors to choose from three traditional Japanese restaurants in Takao or Kifune, popular summer retreats in the mountains of Kyoto.
With the package, a yukata, or light kimono for summertime, is provided for guests to wear for dinner and to take home. There is a choice of around 100 patterns and each comes with matching obi and geta. A taxi between the hotel and the restaurant is also provided.
