In celebration of the first anniversary of its opening on March 2, Shangri-La Hotel, Tokyo is offering two commemorative accommodation packages.
The First Year Anniversary package, running until June 30, offers a deluxe room for two from ¥53,130 per night, including breakfast and a commemorative book — the hardcover Japanese translation of the novel "Lost Horizon," from which the name Shangri-La derives.
The literary classic written by James Hilton in 1933 is known worldwide, but its Japanese version is not currently in print. The hotel republished the Japanese version for its opening, and it is only available as an amenity in each guest room.
