The Miele Guide, an annual restaurant profile and ranking survey for Asia, will launch a monthlong charity initiative in cooperation with more than 50 restaurants in the region.
Throughout August, participating restaurants, a majority of which are listed in The Miele Guide 2008/2009 edition, will offer special set menus or promotions, and they will donate 15 percent of the revenue from these to the United Nations World Food Programme to combat hunger and poverty in East Timor in Southeast Asia.
Ate Media, publisher of the guide, aims to raise $200,000 through the campaign.
