When it comes to video games, Japan generally gets the good stuff first. Nintendo, Sony, and NEC hardware generally comes out in Japan before the United States. "Devil May Cry," "Final Fantasy X," and "Luigi's Mansion" all came out in Japan before they made it to the United States.
But the big surprise in gaming this holiday season came to America first -- "Grand Theft Auto 3," a game for PlayStation2 created by a Scottish design firm called DMA and published by Rockstar Games.
But if "GTA3" never makes it to Japan, then a lot of Japanese moms have much to be grateful for.
