Services between Tokyo and Hakata stations were canceled, resumed and then suspended shortly afterward before gradually resuming again, all in the midst of the summer Bon holiday season.
On Wednesday, multiple stations — Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka to Okayama, Hiroshima, and Hakata — were flooded with passengers waiting for services to resume, while others busied themselves looking for alternative ways to reach their destination.
