Public broadcaster NHK announced the lineup for its New Year's Eve “Kohaku Uta Gassen” music bonanza on Tuesday, with 10 acts making their debuts.

Many of the new names appeared on a stage at the station’s broadcast center in Shibuya Ward for the announcement, which includes 41 solo artists and groups in total. Those set to perform on this year’s program reflect the diverse state of the Japanese music landscape, both in style, age and distribution.

Among the first-time performers set to appear at the 75th edition of “Kohaku” are multiple groups that have only been around for about a year. They include domestic acts such as Number_i and ME:I, as well as fledgling South Korean group Illit.
