The members of Chilean trio Mareo! originally came to Japan in 2019 to challenge themselves. The band wound up its first tour of the country feeling like they found a second home.

“We connected with a lot of people, networked and made great friends with whom we remain close to this day,” keyboardist Camila Sanchez says. “We discovered in Japanese listeners an open and receptive audience ... and an important musical market.”

Stylized in all caps, Mareo! is made up of Sanchez, vocalist Francisca Silva and bassist Ernesto Duboy, all of whom are currently on their second tour of the archipelago as part of a month-long stay — Mareo!’s longest to date.
