After illustrating "Mekkira Mokkira Dondon" (1985), a children's picture book written by Setsuko Kasegawa, Furiya Nana began studying lithography at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Bratislava, in Slovakia, under Dusan Kallay, a printmaker, picture book writer and illustrator.
Now based in Slovakia, Furiya, renowned for her vibrantly colored depictions of animal characters, has worked on around 60 picture books and other children's publications.
This exhibition presents 120 original sketches from six of Furiya's picture books, ranging from "Mekkira Mokkira Dondon" to her most recent work "Dobutsu ABC Ehon" ("Animal ABC Picture Book" 2019).
