May 17-June 3
Osaka native Jun Koshino is a graduate of the Graduate School of Kyoto City University of Arts, where he specialized in oil painting. In 1997, he held his first solo exhibition, "Spattering," at the Largerhaus store in Osaka.
This is Koshino's 22nd solo exhibition, which focuses on a series of silkscreen printed blocks of transparent acrylic. A thin layer of brightly colored ink was applied to all sides of each block, turning them into subtly translucent works that become luminous as light shines through them. All works displayed are propped up against walls to explore the atmosphere they can produce in combination with the venue's lighting.
