Pop singer Kaela Kimura's "Butterfly" has topped Oricon's top 10 list of the most popular wedding songs of 2016.
The Tokyo native's 2009 smash hit beat singer-songwriter Masaharu Fukuyama's "Kazoku ni Narou Yo" ("Let's Become a Family") and Superfly's "Ai wo Komete Hanataba wo" ("Flowers with Love") for the top spot.
Also included in the list were "Arigatou" ("Thank you") by Ikimono Gakari, "Baby I Love You" by Che'Nelle, "Happiness" by Arashi, "Story" by Ai, "365 Days" by Mr. Children, "Kiseki" ("Miracle") by GReeeeN and a Japanese version of "Let It Go" from the movie "Frozen" that is sung by Takako Matsu.
Based on current popularity, Oricon expects singer-songwriter Daigo's "KSK," a song dedicated to his new wife, actress Keiko Kitagawa, to top the chart in the future.
