March 2-13
Loved for its vibrant colors — glazes of red, blue, yellow, purple and green — Kutani porcelain has a history of more than 350 years.
This exhibition highlights the work of Keigo Kamide, a sixth-generation ceramicist of Kutani Choemon, a kiln that has been producing Kutani ware for over 130 years. Kamide approaches the craft through the lens of new, contemporary design, while respecting long-established traditional motifs and craftsmanship. On display are both his personal and retail experimental pottery designs, as well as a number of the kiln's classic masterpieces.
