Following the announcement of a new album in the works, Radiohead has been confirmed as one of this year's Summer Sonic headliners.
Creativeman Productions made the announcement yesterday via the festival's official website and joining the band will be Underworld, Sakanaction, Fergie, Weezer, Two Door Cinema Club, The 1975 and more.
The news of Radiohead's ninth album came from an official statement for Spain's Primavera Sound festival last week that confirmed fans can expect "the presentation of the new album by the British band Radiohead."
Summer Sonic's main competitor, Fuji Rock Festival, has yet to announce any bands for its 2016 lineup, but this year marks the Niigata Prefecture event's 20th anniversary and anticipation is building.
Summer Sonic, which takes place in Tokyo and Osaka, is scheduled for Aug. 20 and 21. Tickets for Creativeman 3A and Creativeman Mobile members are already available for purchase, and will be made available to the general public from Feb. 1.
