In the advertisements for the new drama series, "Giso no Fufu" ("A Fake Couple"; Nihon TV, Wed., 10 p.m.), the word "Giso" is printed as a correction to the word "Riso" (ideal), thus providing both a pun and a concept worth pondering.
Hiro (Yuki Amami) is a single, 45-year-old librarian who greets the world with a smile while harboring bitter thoughts about everything around her. She has few friends because she has never opened her heart to anyone except Choji (Kazuki Sawamura), her boyfriend in university — he's the only man she has ever loved.
One day she runs into Choji and learns he is the headmaster of a kindergarten. Before she has time to process her feelings, he proposes to her out of the blue. They marry, but Hiro soon realizes they are only "acting" like a married couple.
