Sept. 10-Oct. 12
Beacon is a collaborative video installation project, featuring the work of artists who were were part of the third IAMAS Artist File — a series of exhibitions run by the Institute of Advanced Media Arts and Sciences and held at the Museum of Fine Arts, Gifu.
Members of the Beacon team are Mihoko Kosugi and Yasuhiko Ando, who are in charge of artistic input; Takashi Ito on video; Takashi Inagaki on sound; and Hiroshi Yoshioka, who oversees textual content.
They have worked together since 1999, making small changes to the installation each time it has been shown. The concept of this 2015 edition is "gazing at the sky," and though the team members traveled nationwide to record video footage, the work centers around Okinawa and Gifu in an exploration of the balance between art and politics.
