Actor Sho Aikawa used to be the king of straight-to-video movies. He's now all over the place, and stars as officer Ken Kobayashi in the occasional mystery series, "Setagaya Chuzai Keiji" ("Setagaya Police Substation Detective"; TBS, Mon., 9 p.m.).
Kobayashi was an elite detective in the Metropolitan Police Force, but a traumatic incident prompted him to request a transfer. Now he's just a beat cop, though one who is still called upon to use his powers of deduction. When the vice president of a local machinery company is stabbed to death in a nearby park, Kobayashi interrogates the victim's terminally ill father, the president of the company.
Kobayashi learns that there is tension in the family over who will inherit the firm. The victim's sister thinks the victim's younger brother is the killer, and the brother thinks it's the sister. As it turns out, both have been living off the old man without contributing to the family business.
